Met with in 31/7A-18 Ambassador Pamela Hamamoto who is US Negotiator for the Pandemic Accord. We (Cliff, Gray Handley and I) brought up some of the landmines that might arise in such an accord regarding conditions placed on receiving reagents. Also, we brought up the recurring issue of the problem with WHO feeling that they should be directing the research associated with outbreaks – long history here (see Cliff’s experience with Anna Maria Restropo. Ebola cases in Uganda stabilizing: Had a Fireside Chat podcast with Mitchell Warren of AVAC. A lot of sentimental goodbyes these days as I prepare to step down. Did a Fireside Chat with Holy Cross students at the Les Aspen Center in DC. They are here as part of a semester long program bringing students to DC to be exposed to government.
