See above re: Jon Karl. They are completely blocking me for Sunday shows. Also, big stink about the POTUS hiding data regarding how infective he might be (see above) Multiple conversation with Sean Conley, docs at Walter Reed and me. Also, Savannah Guthrie representing NBC wants assurances that it is safe for the audience that the POTUS does a Town Hall on Thursday (Oct.14). Mark wants us at NIH to repeat the PCR and CT values to get an independent voice here since the press does not trust Sean Conley or the Walter Reed people since they believe that these folks are afraid of the Commander-in-Chief. However, Mark does not want to admit that we need to go to NIH and so he wants NIH to do the PCR but have me not say that it was done at NIH, but only say that I will vouch for the results. Really ridiculous. Cliff will do the swab on Thursday and run it at NIH. I needed to respond to the misrepresentation of my support forTrump by the GOP campaign and so when Kaitlan Collins contacted me about it, I issued a statement that she tweeted: "In my nearly five decades of public service, I have never publicly endorsed any political candidate. The comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials." It went totally viral on twitter and several networks and cable reported it. The GOP campaign hit back by giving other quotes from me saying that I did indeed support what the POTUS was doing. However, they left out all f my criticisms, and besides in none of those quotes did I endorse the POTUS. Now the GOP campaign is tweeting everything that I ever said positive about our effort trying to call me a liar about denying that I am favoring Trump. This is turning into an ongoing war between me and the GOP campaign. Nate Silver tweeted that the GOP campaign is really stupid to pick a fight with Tony Fauci just a couple of weeks before the election. Jon Karl called out Alyssa Farah on “This Week” saying that she would not let me on the show. He then asked for any medical or TF person including Redfield, Birx, Hahn, Giroir, or even Pence. She ignored that and tweeted that Karl did not ask for anyone else but me. Karl got furious and tweeted his tweet to her showing her up to be a liar. She responded and said she must have “missed the text”. PRESS: Opinions Distinguished person of the week: Fauci calls out Trump’s recklessness Opinion by Jennifer Rubin Columnist
