Anthony S. Faucidiary entry
Had a very disappointing conversation today with Dep Sec Andrea Palm, Kevin Barstow and the HHS General Counsel Samuel Bagenstos. They essentially told me that they will not be able to help me at all after I leave government service on December the 31st. In particular, they will not be able to provide me with legal backup if I get called before oversight committees if the GOP takes over the Congress. In addition, they are going to discontinue my protective service that has been given to me for the past 2 1/2 years. They even went on to suggest that I could hire a private security firm to protect me. I would say that this is a relinquishment of their responsibility to me since everything that I've done that has put me into this position I've done in my service to HHS and the US government.
