Did Zoom call with Winnie Byanyima (Exec Dir. Of UNAIDS) together with Regan Hofmann. Winnie was very grateful for my leadership in COBID-19 and HIV/AIDS. We discussed the
importance of having a global effort (hopefully led by USA) to get the world vaccinated against
COVID-19. Winnie was excited about the fact that I mentioned the loosening of patents in a recent interview to allow wider availability of COVID-19 vaccines. I promised that I will continue to push the “international and global” agenda. I mentioned that we would need to get things under better control in the USA before we would be able to generate interest in global issues.
