Anthony S. Faucidiary entry
Global – 107,000,000/2,300,000; USA – 27,100,000/470,100 Number of daily cases continue to diminish. CDC starting to do practical things that I have actually been pushing for some time. For example: Wearing 2 masks could be better than just one. They did a dummy study and showed that a cloth mask over a surgical mask actually gives a more complete fit and keeps out aerosols. Another example is that people who are vaccinated do not need to go into quarantine after exposure to a documented COVID-19 case. POTUS Biden visit to NIH. Biden visited the NIAID VRC today at 3:30 PM on a sleety and snowy day. It was a great visit. I presented to him the history of the VRC and the importance of the work that Barney Graham has done with the stabilized spike protein. We brought Biden into the room where the experiments were done and Barney and Kizzy Corbet presented to him. He was accompanied by Jeff Zients. We then went to Natcher Auditorium where he addressed (virtually) the NIH community with a great speech in which he called out Francis and I multiple times.
