Those pages are labelled OCR on the site. - Threading: the emails are printed messages, not mailbox files, so threads are reconstructed from subject lines and participants rather than message headers. - Reprints: two packages print some emails twice (Reading Room pp. 2-51 again at 225-274, and 202-223 at 339-360). 31 of the 155 message records are second printings, so 124 distinct messages are published; each is shown once and cites every page range it appears on. - Surname matching: "named in diary entries" on a person page is a plain-text surname match and can catch a different person with the same surname. - Dates: taken from document headings, and only as accurate as those headings. One entry is headed February 5, 2000 while its content describes February 5, 2020; it is left as released and sorts under 2000. - Line breaks: on HTML pages, lines the PDF wrapped at the page margin are rejoined for readability. Whitespace only — words are never altered. The /txt variants preserve the original breaks. ## Citing Cite the source package and page numbers shown on the item, not this site; the released PDF is the authority.
