Presented Alexander Fleming Award of the IDDSA to Larry Corey at the DC Convention
Center

Humbling experience for me as I received a prolonged standing ovation from the crowd of 6000
people as I walked on to the stage to introduce Larry. Also, the IDSA established a perpetual
prize in my name the IDSA Anthony S. Fauci Prize for “courage in leadership in speaking
scientific truth, perseverance in the face of opposition and serving as a change agent for
health care and patients around the world”.
