Global – 166,300,000/3,400,000; USA – 32,900,000/586,800 Cases continue to come down. All 50 states have decreases: Appropriations Hearing (Senate and House) coming up next week. Interesting to see if they fixate on the lab. Escape theory. I had a very interesting and helpful conversation today with Christian Andersen of Scripps Research Institute. He was very emphatic that the work that was done at the Wu Han Institute in Association with our grant was not gain of function . In addition he confirmed that if you match the chimeric viruses that were made in the context of the NIH grant in Wuhan, they are not even close sequence wise to the SARS-CoV-2. Christian will be writing a letter together with some data on this topic; however, I feel much better now that he is in total support of what I have been saying.
