The anti-Fauci stuff continues with individual articles and FOX news continually implying
that gain of function research funded by NIAID (which never occurred) was related to escape of
virus from Wuhan Institute of Virology. Typical conspiracy theory. (see below)

Rarely are we at a loss for words.

But we're hard pressed to adequately express how grateful we are for your extraordinary appearance
during our season premiere of “Common Ground” last Sunday.

The rave reviews for your “Human Google” pandemic database and your candor continue to roll in. But,
it was your earthy sensibility that lifted the broadcast to a visceral level which resonated with so many.
During this chaotic chapter when we’re trying to cope with the pandemic plus a bitterly divided country,
you give people hope that leadership, integrity — and humanity -- can lift us to better days. Your friend
and WaPo columnist Michael Gerson captured your gestalt when he observed that you have “no other
ambition or agenda than the health of the country and the world.”

Not since I interviewed former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright last summer had the phrase
“national treasure” popped into my head. But, your constancy and commitment to leading our nation
through the scourge of the coronavirus, warranted using that phrase again during the close of our
interview.

On behalf of our entire “Common Ground” team, we are especially thankful that you were willing to
donate your talent and considerable time to join us for our series launch on national television

   •   Had call with Jeff Zients who (like me) is concerned that the CDC and Rochelle are
       being too conservative with regard to not loosening up restrictions for people who have
       been vaccinated. The CDC is beginning to lose credibility. Jeff realizes this and
       because of my close relationship with Rochelle, he wants me to get her to understand
       that. She is sticking closely with the advice of her career people who are often behind
       the real world.
   •   Followed up with Rochelle and told her in a fatherly advice that the CDC is loosing
       credibility by being so rigid with the guidelines for vaccinated people.
