Had terrific conversation today with Bob Cousy. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) had called me a
couple of weeks ago saying that Bob Cousy would love to connect with me by phone, Joe is a
good friend of Cousy’s. I called Bob’s cell phone and we spent 20 minutes chatting about all
kinds of things. He has a great sense of humor. He is disturbed by the devisiveness in our
society (similar to my concern). He spoke about his being 92 years old and that he body in
“falling apart” despite the fact that he has “all my smarts”. He is a rally charming guy. We
developed a great rapport on the phone. Note that he came to my lecture at Holy Cross a few
years ago and we had dinner together.
