Vaccine doses are being shipped as I write this. Vaccinations will start today. Discussions
ongoing whether to vaccinate the White House staff. Also Jeff Zientz wants to speak with me
about when the President-elect and VP-elect should be vaccinated.

   •   Bitter-Sweet day – vaccinations start but we reach landmark of 300,000 Americans
       have died of COVID-19

   •   Call from Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WVA) asking whether I recommend that he and others
       get vaccinated. Also, wanted to know which was better Moderna or Pfizer. I]assured
       him that they were equal.
   •   Received virtually the 2020 John Maddox Prize for Standing Up for Science from Nature
       magazine
