Trump fired Sec Mark Esper and several DoD civilian officials (high ranking) have resigned. Fear is that Trump is stacking the DoD with loyalists if he really wants to do a coup and steal the election/democratic process. Very scary times. The GOP leadership that are backing Trump (McConnell, McCarthy, Jordan, Blount) are incredibly shameful. Reminds me historically of Hitler getting duly elected to Chancellorship and then forcibly taking over the country. Amazing!! Scott Atlas criticized me to Politico (see below). I e-mailed Alyssa Farah and told her that this was unacceptable. She wrote back to me (see below) saying she would take care of this. Within 30 minutes, Atlas called me up and said that we should stop criticizing each other and that he is extremely qualified and I need to recognize this. I was gracious and said let us agree to say that we just have differences in opinion and interpretation of data and stop any personal attacks. In fact, he really does not know what he is talking about, but I am not going to battle. coronavirus ‘A political animal’: Atlas attacks Fauci, escalating feud between Trump’s pandemic advisers The remarks represent a continuation of the criticism Trump leveled at Fauci in the run-up to last week’s election. Dr. Scott Atlas, a top coronavirus adviser to President Donald Trump, is a physician with no expertise in infectious diseases or epidemiology. | Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images By QUINT FORGEY 11/11/2020 07:47 AM EST Email from Alyssa Farah: I Will immediately raise with Dr Atlas. This is unacceptable. He goes rogue and it’s wildly unhelpful. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this. I’ve advocated for his dismissal for months to no avail.. Sent from my iPhone Got call from VP Pence at 1:10 PM today. He wanted to tell me how much he respected me as a scientist and as a person. He heard that I had called Marty Obst every day while he was ill with COVID-19 as well as my calling Marc Short every day. He thought that this was wonderful. Also, he liked my recent messaging that “help is on the way with a vaccine” and so we should all hang in there with public health measures. Very nice call!
