Fauci gets his own action figure BY JUDY KURTZ - 10/06/20 12:23 PM EDT 297 • Fireside Chat for Cornell (Ithaca) Homecoming – Kate Snow • Holy Cross fireside chat • Fireside chat with American University Political Union with Sylvia Burwell Marc: I am sorry to bother you with this as we approach the important VP debate, but this needs attention. You had mentioned to me about trying to reconcile differences between the other doctors on the Task Force and Dr. Atlas and I told you that I certainly am amenable to doing so. Below is a note that a reporter (Ashley Collman) sent to me asking for my response to an interview that she had with Dr. Atlas that they are planning on publishing. I am not planning to respond publicly since that would be beneath my dignity. However, a line has been crossed here am I strongly suggest that Dr. Atlas be removed from the Task Force and quite frankly from the White House itself. Not withstanding his outrageous comments about me, which are factually incorrect (I never said that “everyone should wear goggles” and I never “ridiculed” Sen. Paul and I, by the way, have actually written the book on natural immunity), what he has been preaching about public health measures has put the POTUS and the White House staff at risk, resulting in the infection of our President and several White House staff and other government officials. As I mentioned, I am not going to address this publicly, but it must be addressed internally. Thank you for listening. Best regards, Tony Anthony S. From: Ashley Collman Sent: Tuesday, October 6, 2020 9:20 AM To: Conrad, Patricia (NIH/NIAID) [E] Subject: Business Insider reporter - request for comment Hi Patricia, My name is Ashley Collman and I'm a reporter for Business Insider. My colleague Hilary said I should contact you if I'm trying to offer Dr. Fauci the opportunity to comment on a story. I spoke to Dr. Scott Atlas yesterday, who had some things to say about Fauci. Atlas slammed Fauci for using "media contacts to make public criticisms of other people out of insecurity." He also criticized Fauci for saying "everyone should wear goggles" and for "ridiculing" Sen. Rand Paul for suggesting that some people have a natural immunity to the virus. "To ridicule that statement shows a complete lack of understanding and a lack of the current scientific research," Atlas said. He added: "I think a lot of the criticism stems from people who are either politically motivated or are interested in maintaining their own stature in the public eye." Let me know if Fauci would like to say anything in response to these comments from Atlas. Best, Ashley Collman Senior News Reporter Alyssa Farah texted me (at 3:39 PM) and said that Meadows will now prevent Atlas from doing any media; however, Atlas appeared on Laura Ingraham (FOX) with misleading statements that Influenza was more dangerous for young people than COVID-19. What a stupid statement! And so, it is OK to have the elderly and the 80 million people in USA with underlying conditions get seriously ill from COVID just because young people do well (mostly). Ridiculous. Deb Birx went in to see Meadows and apparently Meadows said he will fix the problem with Atlas, but it may take 48 hours. We shall see.
