Excess death calculations has us actually at 200,000 deaths from COVID-19. Global USA Did Task Force today. Had brief discussion with Scott Atlas. He is concerned about being seen as the “anti-Fauci”. He says that he is not in favor of “let it rip” to develop herd immunity. He believes in herd immunity, but he feels that we should just protect the elderly and vulnerable in nursing homes. He may be backing off on what he was “supposed” to have said. Clearly, Deb Birx and to some extent Redfield feel that he is dangerous. He might be, but I really need to hear from him what is position is on a variety of subjects. Joan Baez sent me a beautiful note this evening. Hi Tony, Just a thought.. People have told me over and over how important I was I'm their lives..I never really either believed them or paid them much attention. But maybe too much modesty, false or otherwise, is as silly as blowing ones own trumpet to loudly. I wonder if you have any idea (probably not) how important you are to us, our health, our sense of hope, and that we won’t go under, not just yet. I am not optimistic about the future of our country, or the world for that matter. But that doesn’t mean I’ve given up. I’m fortunate to paint, and paint well. Same as I sang well. I had the blessed luck to end my singing career shortly before Covid upended the entertainment industry. My first portrait exhibit was called “Mischief Makers”. It consisted of people who had spoken truth to power, many risking their lives to make change without the use of violence. Without even thinking about it, you are doing nonviolent resistance every time you stand up in front of the cameras with people all around you who are doing everything possible to negate common sense and science.. knowing your life oddly and unexpectedly is more fragile than you’d thought, by the splits and divisions, mistrust and hatred - mostly people by who are encouraged to do evil, are now very close by.
