Global – 14,000,000/598,000; USA – 3,800,000/140,200;

   •   Kentucky, Louisiana, Oregon and South Carolina all set new single-day records
       for new cases on Sunday. Idaho, Nebraska, Iowa and five other states have seen
       their seven-day averages for daily new fatalities rise by more than 40 percent in
       the past week.
   •   More than 100 Florida hospitals have run out of ICU beds for adults. The state has
       reported more than 10,000 new covid-19 cases on 12 different days in July.

Had call with Bill Gates (usual call every couple of weeks)

Was on Governors’ call from the Situation Room today. Made comment about the
importance of the “fundamentals” on 1) masks; 2) close bards; 3) limit restaurant
occupancy; 4) avoid crowds; 5) personal hygiene – wash hands.
