They continually ask him if WH has told him to fire me. Francis responded that this is “unimaginable”. Many societies are writing statements in explicit support of me. It isvery moving and humbling. Kellyanne Conway called me today saying how angry she was at the unseemly criticism of me by some in the White House. She has spoken to the POTUS about this and he is strongly supportive of me Mark Mradows and I going back and forth regarding his nitpicking every word of mine on interviews. Latest was his concern that I said that NYC did a good job in getting back to basline and opening safely. He says NYC did a terrible job and I should not be setting them as an example. He is incorrect and misunderstood what I was saying. I meant that they went down to baseline and are not opening safely. WEgo back anad forth and finally call a truce. USA Today piece by Gov. Larry Hogan: Hogan: Governors like me rely on experts for COVID facts. Dr. Fauci has never let me down. As Trump downplayed COVID, Fauci offered clear-eyed views of the evidence and what we faced. I shudder to think where our country would be without him. Larry Hogan Opinion contributor PRESS: New York Times article by Michael Shear, Noah Weiland, Eric Lipton, Maggie Haberman, and david Sanger entitled “Passing off virus burden, White House fueld crisis” – criticizes Deb Birx a lot. I comme out well; Major 3 page article in Washington Post by Molly Roberts entitled “Anthony Fauci built a truce. Trump is destroying it” – very favorable profile
