Global – 4,170,000/288,000; USA – 1,380,000/84,000 POTUS on FOX this AM blasting me saying that I disagreed with his decision to stop travel from China. Big buzz in media about the POTUS feud with Fauci I spoke with Mark Short by phone and he is very much OK with me. He suggested that I speak with the POTUS and explain exactly what I said. I have been trying to connect with Mark Meadows by phone and text, but no response thus far. Moncef Slaoui joins the team as the “Czar” for Vaccines/Therapeutics/Diagnostics. Mark Meadows called me back and confirmed that the POTUS is upset with me. I explained to him that there is confusion. I never said do not open the schools. I said that we would not have a vaccine ready. Mark said that he would speak with the POTUS and perhaps have the POTUS call me. Chris Cuomo, and Jake Tapper are trying to clarify this in my defense on their shows. Mark Meadows calls me back and says that he spoke with the POTUS and the POTUS understands and all is good. He appreciates my reaching out to him. I went to West Wing for meeting with Deb Birx in her office (lower lobby). I went upp to say hi to VP staff and Hope Hick saw me and asked how I was doing. I had printed out the entire transcript from the HELP Hearing and tabbed the parts that indicated that I did not say do not open the schools. Hope had those pages copied and she will show them to the POTUS. Hopefully, this ends the “feud” Getting many, many e-mail of support from all over the world. This has made big news! In a column today in the Washington Post, Mike Gerson said: “At one level, this is an unfair fight. Trump is a proven and perpetual liar, and his Fox News allies are artless, shameless ideologues. Fauci is one of the greatest humanitarian physicians of our time, whose entire career has been committed to scientific integrity and truth-telling. In a battle of credibility, the duplicitous, conspiratorial demagogues are at a serious disadvantage.”
