Mike Caputo is delighted with the event last night. It is interesting that he is one
of my greatest fan and he is sincere. So different from some of the shit I took
during the esarly years of the Obama administration with that asshole Jenny
Bacchus who always hesitated to put me on TV until Denis McDonough and Lisa
Monaco of the White House intervened.

Grace Panetta writes for Business Insider (4/30, 3.67M) that NIAID Director Dr. Anthony
Fauci “and Gov. Andrew Cuomo remain the most trusted leaders Americans look to for
official advice on the coronavirus crisis, while President Donald Trump and White House
advisor Jared Kushner still rank at the bottom.” Consumers’ “levels of trust in the top officials’
handling of the crisis [have] remained remarkably steady across...three surveys.”

Had Zoom talk with Mike Lerner (owner of Nats)and Ted Leonis (Owner of Caps, Mystis,
Wizards). Long conversation with them about opening up the sports seasons, particularly,
imminently the Nats. I gave them the usual discussions. They want me to throw out the 1st
ball at Nats stadium and drop the puck at the Hockey game, etc.

Biden accused of groping a woman (Tara Reade) in his Senate office decaades
ago.

Yesterday Peter Staley called me up and said that some (? how many) members of
the scientific and old activist community are disappointed in me for appearing in
the Oval Office with the announcement of the Remdesivir results, making it a
political thing used by Trump. I can see theor point, but I had not choice (see
above). I rectified that yesterday (later in the day)( when at the TF meeting, Jared
Kushner arranged to have a photo op in the Oval Office celebrating the domnation
of >1 million doses of Remdesivir to the USG to distribute to people who needed
it. They wanted me, Bob Redfield, Deb, and Azar to pose for photos with the
POTUS and the CEO of Gilead. I asked Narc Sort to step out of the Sit Room

and I explained that I could not do this since my colleagues would say (and so
would I) that I am seting ovrer the line. I explained to Marc the aversion
scientists (of any political persuasion) have for politicizing science. He
understood completely and we wen back inot the room and I told the VP the same
thing and he wa very supportive. Deb and Bob were clearly not happy with what
I did, likely because they also felt uncomformtable, but had no choice since they
are political appointees. Such is life. I made the correct decision.
