Went to Holiday Party at Sam and Jan Smith Donaldson’s home in McLean. Usual warm and enjoyable time. Chris was in Istanbul teaching a course in Bioethics and so I went alone. Usual cast of characters: Colin Powell, General Casey, Ben Bradlee, Lee Hamilton, Antonin Scalia, Nina Totenberg, Bill Plante, John and Debbie Dingle, George Will, Terry McAuliffe, etc. etc.
